DSGDDR NYC Hudson & G-TraX 20th Century Limited Consist Mods

V2.0b Minor physics upgrade for freeware New York Central Hudsons and associated 20th Century Limited consist. Boiler capacity increased, tender capacities adjusted, locomotive and tender masses adjusted, adhesion increased. Minor adjustment to whistle to allow multiple blows in short intervals. Car weights for the 20th Century Limited consist adjusted. If you have downloaded the April 2020 update from Digital Railroading that corrects the driver RPM, you must reinstall this mod.


V1.1 update (11/12/19):

  • Extremely accurate tractive effort physics installed into locomotive. Will now mirror actual NYC J-3a test performance; accelerating a 15 car (1005 short ton) train from 0 to 60 mph in 5 min, 0 to 80 mph in 10 min, and balance out at 91 mph in 20 min.

  • Boiler pressure adjusted to 275 psi; safety valves calibrated slightly.

  • Exclusive numbering differentiating between unstreamlined and streamlined Hudsons.

  • Lowered drag coefficients on passenger cars to allow performance curves to be met.

  • Water glass function corrected; will now only display boiler water levels between 90% and 78%. Highest part of crown sheet about 72%-74%.


V2.0 update (4/28/20):

  • Installed functional "high speed" trailing truck booster.

  • Booster raises total tractive effort to 55,540 lbs.

  • Booster active between 75% and 60% cutoff on power reverse gear.

  • Booster functional up to 35 mph.


V2.0b update (5/23/20):

  • Decreased sensitivity of reverser control, allowing more fine-tuned adjustments of the reverse gear.

To install, follow steps below:

  1. Right click DSGDDR folder in Railworks Assets subdirectory (C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets)

  2. Go to properties and uncheck the "read only box", then click apply and apply to all subfolders.

  3. Drop "G-TraX" and "DSGDDR" folders from this zip into following directory: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\RailWorks\Assets"
